Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning is upon us and some of us have heftier tasks in front of us than others. Whether it’s cleaning the attic, garage, or the whole house, there are several ways to make this task easier.

Depending on your situation, you may have a garage full of things that need to be looked through and, frankly, thrown away. Or, maybe you’re trying to clean every room in the house.

It’s important to keep a couple of things in mind before starting.

HAVE A PLAN

When endeavoring on any big project, planning is essential. We all know things always come up to throw you off course, BUT jumping in head first without making sure the pool has water is a recipe for disaster.

If planning isn’t your strength, we want to help by giving a few sample plans below!

If you have a garage full of things, a plan may be as simple as this:

  1. Take everything out of the garage
  2. Make three piles: keep, donate, and throw away
  3. Clean the inside of the garage
  4. Pack up the donation items and load them in your vehicle
  5. Dump the garbage in your Daily Dumpster Roll off Dumpster
  6. Organize your keep items and put them in the garage

If you’re spring cleaning the whole house, remember to work smarter, not harder. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to do it all at once! Here’s a sample plan for you to copy:

  1. Schedule which 1 or 2 rooms you’re going to clean on which day
  2. Determine what the goals are for each room (e.g., declutter, deep clean)
  3. Make sure all items are split into your piles: keep, throw away, donate
  4. Throw all the garbage into your Daily Dumpster Roll off Dumpster
  5. Set aside the donation items
  6. Clean the room
  7. Put all the items you’re keeping back in an organized way

It’s hard to go astray when you have a plan guiding you!

It’s equally important to make sure you have what you need to follow through on the plan.

HAVE THE RIGHT TOOLS

Because the tools you need will vary based on what you’re cleaning, it’s important to ensure you have them. To really clean some items, you may need something like a screwdriver. To clean something like a grill, you may have to disassemble a little to get it looking brand new!

Having cleaning supplies is also essential. Make sure you know what you’re tackling. For example, dusting and cutting grease are different tasks requiring different supplies!

Another essential is ensuring you have a big enough dumpster! If you’re taking on a project like cleaning out the garage, the whole house, or that room that’s full of stuff, your regular dumpster just won’t cut it. Even if you fit everything into it, where are you going to put your daily garbage?

It’s important to have a roll-off dumpster from Daily Dumpster to make sure your garbage is disposed of quickly and easily!
